Strong winds keep Friday’s fire danger high

RED FLAG WARNING for Chautauqua county (KS) from 9 AM until 6 PM.

WIND ADVISORY for Chautauqua and Montgomery counties in Kansas until 6 PM. Craig, Creek, Delaware, Mayes, McIntosh, Muskogee, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Rogers, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington counties from 8 AM until 6 PM.

  • Windy and cloudy start to the day, a light jacket might be all you need
  • Winds gust to 35 mph or higher, enhancing the grass fire danger again
  • Colder afternoon temperatures expected the next couple of days with widespread cloud cover and a few flurries in far northeast Oklahoma Friday AM
  • Cool and dry for the weekend
