The Chris Paul era with the Thunder could be longer than first expected. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday that discussions to trade Paul are "parked" and expectations are increasing that CP3 will start the season with the Thunder.

OKC traded Russell Westbrook to Houston for Paul, two first-round draft picks, and two draft swaps in a deal that was first reported last week but didn't become official until Tuesday night. The initial assumption was the Thunder would try to trade the nine-time All-Star immediately, but CP3's large contract is turning out to be tough to move especially this late in free agency.

Wojnarowski is reporting the Thunder and Paul both believe there are benefits to him playing out the year with Oklahoma City.
