Tragic news for the Thunder organization. Ingrid Williams, the wife of Oklahoma City assistant coach Monty Williams, died Wednesday after she was hurt in a car crash Tuesday night.
The wreck happened on South Western Avenue in Oklahoma City around 8 pm Tuesday. The Oklahoma City Police told FOX23 Susannah Donaldson's car went left of center and hit Ingrid Williams' SUV head on.
Williams was taken to the OU Medical Center before dying Wednesday. Donaldson died at the scene. They were both wearing seat belts.

The Thunder sent out a statement about Williams' death. It read:

“The Thunder organization has heavy hearts tonight with the news of Ingrid's passing. Words cannot adequately describe how deep our sorrow is for the loss of Monty’s wife. Our thoughts and prayers are with Monty and his family, and we will support him in every way possible. We know the entire community of Oklahoma City has them in their prayers.”

This is Monty Williams first season as a Thunder assistant coach. Before that he was the New Orleans Pelicans head coach.

Thunder star Kevin Durant was emotional talking about the tragedy:

It's just devastating to hear Kevin Durant talk about the death of Ingrid Williams, the wife of Thunder assistant coach Monty Williams. I'll have more reaction from the Thunder and what the Oklahoma City police say was the main factor that made the crash deadly on FOX23 News at 5:45.
