Riley will get big raise after this season

Lincoln Riley is getting a two-year contract extension and a big raise, but the extra money won’t happen just yet.

The OU Board of Regents approved the new deal Tuesday. It lasts until January 31, 2026. For the 2020 season, Riley will make $6.15 million dollars. The raise kicks in the following season. Including stay bonuses, Riley is set to make $8.05 million in 2021, $7.565 million in 2022, $8.275 million in 2023, and $7.585 million in 2024 and 2025.

Riley is 36-6 in three seasons as OU’s head coach. The Sooners won the Big 12 Championship and made it to the College Football Playoff in each of those three seasons.
