OU DB, Tulsa native will skip Cotton Bowl

It’s curtains on Tre Brown’s career as an Oklahoma Sooner.

The Tulsa native and senior cornerback said on social media it’s time for him to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft. Brown said he will skip the Cotton Bowl Classic vs. No. 7 Florida on Dec. 30.

It’s unclear who will replace Brown, a longtime starter at corner, on the depth chart; however, up-and-coming freshman D.J. Graham may get the nod.

Brown had six pass breakups and three interceptions during the 2020 season, including a game-clinching pick in the Big 12 Championship game against Iowa State.

He was a four-star recruit out of Union High School in Tulsa, leading his team to the state title in his senior season.
