OSU, OU, Oral Roberts learn NCAA Tourney fates

All three NCAA Tournament-bound Oklahoma teams anticipated learning their fate Sunday evening.

Teams invited to compete in the tournament will compete exclusively in Indiana this season due to COVID-19 precautions. The NCAA has staggered teams’ arrival so players and staff can test negative for the virus and live safely in a “bubble”-like atmosphere.

FRIDAY, 5:25 P.M. - 4 OKLAHOMA STATE VS. 13 LIBERTY (TBS) - FARMERS COLISEUM

No. 12 Oklahoma State (20-8, 11-7 Big 12) will face 13-seed Liberty in the Midwest Region on Friday.

OSU was instructed to depart for its bubble site immediately after learning its seed and matchup.

The Cowboys are a 4-seed. The Pokes just upset No. 2 Baylor in the Big 12 semifinals before falling to No. 13 Texas in the conference championship game.

SATURDAY, 6:25 P.M. - 8 OKLAHOMA VS. 9 MISSOURI (TNT) - LUCAS OIL STADIUM

No. 25 Oklahoma (15-10, 9-8 Big 12) is an 8-seed and will play 9-seed Missouri on Saturday in the West Region. The winner will get either 1-seed Gonzaga or play-in team Appalachian State/Norfolk State.

The Sooners are coming off a loss to Kansas in the Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal.

FRIDAY, 2 P.M. - 15 ORAL ROBERTS VS. 2 OHIO STATE (CBS) - MACKEY ARENA

Oral Roberts (16-10, 10-5 Summit League) got an automatic bid after winning its conference tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The Golden Eagles are a No. 15 seed and will play 2-seed Ohio State in the South Region on Friday. The team is already in Indiana.

ORU looks to make noise in its first trip to the big dance since 2008.
