No. 1 OU Softball advances to the WCWS championship after beating JMU, 7-1

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. — No. 1 OU Softball beat James Madison on Monday, 7-1, to advance to the Women’s College World Series championship.

The Sooners will play either Florida State University or Alabama, who were scheduled to play immediately after their win.

Game one of the best-of-three game series is Tuesday.

After surrendering a lead off home run to JMU’s Kate Gordon, OU left-hander Giselle Juarez threw 7 innings, striking out 11.

The Sooners took the lead in the 4th on a RBI double from Jana Johns.
