Nebraska’s Farniok finds a fit with TU Golden Hurricane

  • The University of Tulsa football team’s latest addition is offensive lineman Will Farniok, a transfer from Nebraska.
  • Farniok is the youngest in a line of football legacies - his eldest brother, Tom, played for Iowa State; older brother Matt just declared for the NFL Draft after serving as captain at Nebraska; and older brother Derek played for the Oklahoma Sooners from 2012 to 2015. They were all offensive linemen.
  • Farniok says all his brothers have helped him in his development.
  • He says he came to Tulsa because he wanted to help build on the team’s success and was swayed by its family-like atmosphere.

A small bit of my interview with new Tulsa OL commit Will Farniok, who's transferring from Nebraska.

  • The six-foot-three, 295-pound Farniok should have three years remaining of eligibility, through the 2023 campaign (during which the Golden Hurricane is set to host Oklahoma).
  • He says he wants to learn the playbook and help the team as much as possible in 2021, knowing that all the starters are back on the offensive line.
  • The South Dakota native is finishing his degree in biological sciences before he moves to Tulsa.
