Former Oklahoma Sooner Kyler Murray is committing to playing in the NFL, according to his tweet Monday.
"Moving forward, I am firmly committing my life and time to becoming an NFL quarterback," said Murray on Twitter Monday afternoon.
Murray's statement of commitment to football all but ensures he will not be attending spring training with the Oakland A's this season.
The NFL included Murray in its list of participants for the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine last week. The combine begins February 26 which would conflict with the A's spring training schedule in Arizona.
Murray declared for the NFL Draft in January.
