Thursday night’s Jenks football game at home against Edmond Santa Fe -- the FOX23 Game of the Week -- is postponed because of COVID-19.

The school made the announcement late Tuesday afternoon. FOX23 was told the Trojans have “a few” positive cases in the program and more people on top of that -- both players and coaches -- in isolation and quarantine because of contact tracing. According to a Jenks official, everyone is expected to be alright.

The Trojans are 4-1 on the season and are coming off a 42-13 win at Norman last week.

This is the second time this season Jenks has lost a game because of COVID-19. Last month the Trojans drove all the way to Enid before finding out right before kick-off that the Plainsmen couldn’t play because of COVID-19 issues.

The game is officially postponed not canceled. So if possible, it will be rescheduled, but that will be hard to do this late in the season.
