Jenks' Allan Trimble diagnosed with ALS

Heartbreaking news for Jenks head football coach Allan Trimble. Trimble told FOX23 Thursday night he has ALS.

Trimble said he was just diagnosed one week ago. He will coach this season. Trimble said he thinks it's best to live your life even after a diagnosis like this.

ALS is an incurable disease. Trimble said 90 percent of people die within three to five years of diagnosis. He's hopeful he can be part of the ten percent who live longer.

Trimble has coached Jenks for 20 years, winning 13 state titles including the last four in a row. He announced his retirement last month only to change his mind three days later and say he will continue to coach.

Trimble sent out an email to the parents about having ALS but has not gotten to talk to his players yet. He's planning on doing that Friday.
