• High school football: Wagoner tops McLain, sets record with 43rd straight win

    The Wagoner Bulldogs planned fireworks to celebrate their 43rd consecutive high school football victory Friday night, but the fireworks started in the second quarter and senior quarterback Blake Dumond lit the fuse.

    Dumond threw three touchdowns in the final eight minutes before halftime to put the game out of reach and the Bulldogs rolled to a 62-22 win over McLain to break the state record for consecutive victories by an 11-man school.

    Coach Dale Condict wept at midfield when he was hugged by his mother, Pam, following the game. Condict said he thought of his dad.
