• Bishop Kelley powers past Memorial 45-12 to pick up first win of the season

    TULSA, Okla. - It’s not hard for a good football team to be 0-2 when the first opponents are 6A Division II champion Booker T. Washington and 5A runner-up OKC Bishop McGuinness.

    But the Bishop Kelley Comets wanted to prove they could still win a game, and they wasted little time doing that Friday night behind junior quarterback Phillip Collins.

    Collins threw for 190 yards and four touchdowns as the 5A No. 9 Comets rolled past No. 10 Memorial 45-12 in a nondistrict battle of Hudson Avenue rivals before about 2,000 spectators at Angelo Prassa Field.
