Eddie Sutton is a finalist for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for the second year in a row and the seventh time total. The announcement was made Friday.

It’s controversial the former OSU head coach is not in the hall already. He’s the only Division I men’s basketball coach with 800 wins not in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He’s a four-time national coach of the year and eight-time conference coach of the year.

Sutton is one of eight finalists announced Friday. The other seven are Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Tamika Catchings, Kim Mulkey, Rudy Tomjanovich, and Barbara Stevens.
