Eddie Sutton documentary to air on ESPN Monday

  • The Eddie Sutton documentary “EDDIE” will debut on ESPN Monday night at 8 pm.
  • According to an ESPN press release, it revisits “not only conference championships and numerous trips to the Final Four, but also the pains of addiction and the devastating 2001 Oklahoma State basketball team plane crash, EDDIE compels sports and general audiences, alike, to ponder the conflicting attributes of a man with flaws shared by many and achievements matched by few.”
  • The legendary college basketball coach passed away on May 23 in Tulsa at 84 years old. His death came less than two months after he was finally elected into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on April 4.
  • Sutton was a four-time national coach of the year and eight-time conference coach of the year. He had an 806-326 record in parts of 37 seasons at Creighton, Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma State, and San Francisco.
