A source confirmed to FOX23 Saturday night that Broken Arrow High School will hire Josh Blankenship as its next head football coach.
Blankenship is the son of Bill Blankenship, who currently serves as Owasso High School’s football coach and was the TU head coach from 2011 to 2014.
Josh Blankenship served as Tulsa’s quarterbacks coach for the 2014 campaign. He had previously led Muskogee High School from 2011 to 2013.
He is currently the head coach at Division II Adams State in Colorado, where he’s compiled an 8-14 record in two seasons at the helm.
He replaces David Alexander, who was fired after posting a 60-23 record in seven seasons.
Alexander’s Tigers won Broken Arrow High School’s first football state championship in 2018, finished as state runner-up in 2015, and won the district championship in both of those years.
