Woman seriously injured in Tahlequah motorcycle accident after swerving to miss dog

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report said a woman was in a motorcycle accident after she tried to swerve to miss a dog in the road.

Saturday night around 7:30 p.m., 51-year-old Kelly Hackworth was driving a Harley-Davidson on Highway 62 in Tahlequah.

Hackworth was driving eastbound when she swerved to miss a dog in the road, and hit the dog.

She fell off the motorcycle and the motorcycle went end over end an unknown number of times.

The report said Hackworth was transported by helicopter to St. John’s in Tulsa, and was admitted in poor condition with several injuries.

Hackworth was not wearing a helmet.
