A woman is dead and a teen is behind bars facing a murder charge after a fatal stabbing in downtown Tulsa.

Officers said they responded after a woman was stabbed in the back and killed near Brady and Boston on Sept. 27.

Officers said 15-year-old Ian Cole stabbed and killed his mother, Melissa Cole, after an argument earlier in the day.

Neighbors said they heard the apartment door being kicked in, and a maintenance worker later found the 45-year-old woman's body.

Ian Cole was charged with murder October 5.
