TULSA, Okla. - Cain's Ballroom, originally built in 1924 as a garage, is now one of Tulsa's premier music venues.

The dancehall became known as "The Home of Bob Wills" shortly after the Texas-born swing musician made his debut at Cain's on New Year's Day 1935, according to the venue.

Cain's is famous among live music fans, not only for its history, but for its maple wood dancefloor. It had such a signature bounce to it that many believed it was mounted on springs. FOX23 learned in 2017 the floor is just designed to work that way. Management installed new custom floor then for just the second time since the 1930s.

Many noted and legendary musicians have graced the Cain's Ballroom stage over the years. Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams, Pat Benatar, Bob Dylan, the Police and so many more. Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols once famously punched hole in the wall backstage that is still there today.

Cain's Ballroom is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as one of its earlier incarnations, Cain's Dance Academy.
