• Ways to celebrate Veterans Day in Green Country

    TULSA, Okla. - Several events are planned to celebrate Veterans Day in Green Country.

    In addition to the events, several deals and discounts are being offered at restaurants nationwide in order to honor the service and sacrifices made by veterans.

    Tulsa Veterans Day Parade

    Tulsa's most noteworthy event is the Veterans Day Parade downtown. The 2018 celebration is the 100th parade in Tulsa celebrating the service of the country's veterans.

    The parade was CANCELED Monday due to winter weather.

    Veterans Day at the Tulsa Zoo

    The Tulsa Zoo is offering free admission to veterans and active military personnel on November 11. They are allowed one free guest and must bring valid service identification.

    Veterans Day Concert at Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame

    The Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame is putting on a concert on November 11. The Salute to Veterans begins at 7 p.m. at the Jazz Hall of Fame in downtown Tulsa. For tickets and information call (918) 928-JAZZ or visit www.JazzHallTickets.com.

    Owasso Veterans Parade

    The City of Owasso is holding a parade in honor of Veterans Day. Owasso's parade will be held on November 10th beginning at 9 a.m. The parade will take place on Smith Farm Road at Smith Farm shopping center.

    Free meal at Reasor's

    Reasor's is inviting all veterans and active duty military to a free meal on November 11. Participants with valid military identification can visit Reasor's between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to choose from any of their $5.99 specials for free.

    Free drink from QuikTrip

    QuikTrip is giving a free self-serve drink on Nov. 11 to active or former military members.The offer includes coffee, cappuccino, Big Q fountain drink or tea, Freezoni and smoothies. Show a military ID at checkout to claim this offer.

    Visit the Tulsa Air and Space Museum

    TASM will offer free admission to veterans and active duty military throughout Veterans Day weekend.

    Tulsa Symphony performs Britten's War Requiem

    The Tulsa Symphony is set to perform a tribute to area veterans on November 11 for Veterans Day. The performance is the Symphony's second "Classics" concert of the season and will mark the first time this piece has been performed in Oklahoma. The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center.

    Veterans eat free at On The Border

    On The Border restaurants are offering a free Create Your Own Combo 2 for all veterans on Nov. 11. The offer allows veterans to make a meal out of 150 different combinations. The entrees are served with Mexican rice, refried beans and endless tortilla chips and salsa. Veterans must show a valid military ID or proof of service. No other purchase is required.

    Osage Nation Veterans Memorial Dedication

    The Osage Nation will host a dedication ceremony for the new Veterans Memorial Park that will open on Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m. The memorial is made of granite walls with 1,237 Osage veteran's names inscribed and a 20-foot eagle feather sculpture centerpiece. The park is located at 819 Grandview Ave. in Pawhuska, Ok.
