Two arrested after posting video of shooting signs

MAJOR COUNTY, Okla. — Two men have been arrested after posting video of themselves shooting at signs in Major County, according to the Major County Sheriff’s Department (MCSO).

In a Facebook post the MCSO said:

Shooting county signs while backroading? Not a good idea. Shooting county signs while backroading in the direction of people in their pasture and homes? A worse idea. Doing all the above and then posting to social media for the world to see? The worst idea ever.

The post later went on to say the MCSO was notified of a social media post showing several individuals driving around the outskirts of Fairview while shooting a pistol at roadway signs.

Through open source intelligence, deputies were able to find out the identities of the individuals responsible and on Tuesday, executed three separate search warrants in Fairview with assistance from the Fairview Police Department.

The warrants led to the discovery of evidence tying Mark Olsen and Johnathan Olsen to “some very poor decision making.”

Both are currently being held until arraignment, while the following charges are sought:

Mark Olsen:

  • Conspiracy to Commit a Felony
  • Using a Vehicle to Facilitate the Discharge of a Firearm in Conscious Disregard of Any Other Person

Johnathan Olsen:

  • Malicious Injury to Property
  • Reckless Conduct
  • Using a Vehicle to Facilitate the Discharge of a Firearm in Conscious Disregard of Any Other Person
  • Shooting from a Roadway.
