Tulsa steakhouse to close after 60 years

TULSA, Okla. — Quick Facts:

  • A 60-year-old Tulsa business will close this month
  • Eddy's Steakhouse is closing May 28 due to the economic downturn in Tulsa

The current oil bust and economic downturn is claiming one of Tulsa’s oldest family owned and operated restaurants.

After 60 years of business, Eddy's Steakhouse near 31st and Harvard will closed its doors after dinner service on May 28.

Owner Eddy Elias told FOX23 that increased beef prices hit the business hard and now many of his clients cut back on eating out because of layoffs within the oil industry.

Elias inherited the business from his father 20 years ago. The father/son duo worked side by side since the 1960s.

The building will be torn down and a bank will be built in its place.
