Police identify men killed in shooting in south Tulsa parking lot; looking for person of interest

VIDEO: Police continue to investigate fatal shooting in south Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Police responded to a deadly shooting outside a south Tulsa gym on July 17.

Tulsa police say two people got into an altercation in the parking lot of VASA Fitness near 51st and Memorial around 6:30 p.m. and a gunfight followed.

Witnesses say they heard several gunshots as bullets hit cars and tires in the parking lot.

The two people firing both died and a third person was injured. That person is expected to survive.

Police identified the victims as Malik Morgan and DeAunte McKnight.

Detectives are looking for 24-year-old Alkila Gray as a person of interest involved in the incident.

UPDATE (9:22pm): Police say a second victim has died. Two are now dead. The third victim has been admitted to the hospital, but is expected to survive. Police say 1 dead, 2 in the hospital after a shooting outside Vasa Fitness at 51st & Memorial.

The gym opened as normal Thursday morning and police say everyone involved in the shooting was accounted for.

VASA released the following statement:

"We are saddened by the shooting incident and loss of life that occurred in the parking lot outside of our Tulsa location Wednesday evening. At VASA Fitness, the safety of our members is of utmost importance. We are thankful to our highly-trained VASA team that worked with law enforcement to keep members safe inside the club and also assisted first responders once on the scene."
