Tulsa police recover stolen gun in pond

JENKS, Okla. — The Tulsa Police Department (TPD) recovered a gun stolen that was allegedly stolen by William Parnell.

Parnell was arrested on May 15 after he allegedly followed two young girls home after the got off a school bus near 84th and Harvard and broke into one of the homes a few days later and stole the gun.

The TPD dive team along with Lighthorse Police located the gun in a pond in Jenks after Parnell told investigators he tossed the gun into a pond where he lived.

TPD said the gun is now considered evidence in the case, but will eventually be returned to the owner.

Due to Parnell’s Native American status and the McGirt ruling, this case is being handled by federal prosecutors.
