• Tulsa police look to add more minority officers

    TULSA, Okla. - Quick Facts:

    • Tulsa police are searching for new recruits this week across state lines.
    • The department is in Protales, New Mexico, this week to recruit minority applicants. It's part of an effort to hire more minority officers, particularly those who are bilingual. 
    • Officials said they've been recruiting from Eastern New Mexico University for the past two to three years and have successfully enrolled new candidates from the school into the police academy.
