TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested a man after he broke into a 90-year-old woman’s east Tulsa home early Tuesday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a burglary alarm at a home near Admiral and Memorial.
Upon arrival, police said officer founds Billie Ray Denton pushing a cart carrying an AC window unit away from the woman’s home. Denton reportedly told officers that a friend gave him the unit.
Officers spoke with the 90-year-old woman’s nephew at the scene. After investigating, Tulsa Police said they believe Denton kicked open a garage door, then kicked open a kitchen door and got inside. Once inside the home, Denton reportedly stole the AC unit.
He was arrested for Second Degree Burglary After Former Conviction of a Felony (AFCF).
