A Tulsa brewery will be holding a weekly dry bar for the month of January.

Many have heard the term Dry January by now, where people try to abstain from alcohol throughout the month of January.

The Tulsa brewery, Nothing’s Left Brewing Co., wants to take it a step further by hosting once-a-week NADA nights.

NADA stands for not a drop around, meaning there won’t a single drop of alcohol served.

Lacy Richards co-owns Nothing’s Left Brewing Co. in Tulsa’s Pearl District. She said not everyone has space for alcohol in their life.

“There are many people who after COVID, realized that there was just not space in their lives for alcohol anymore,” Richards said.

That gave Richards the idea to host a completely dry bar in their tap room every Monday for Dry January.

“They wanted to be with their friends and to celebrate stuff, but a can of soda just not enough, or they wanted something more of a celebratory type of drink that still felt like they were participating,” Richards said.

She said an increase of non-alcoholic options at bars have made it possible to develop a full bar menu, complete with mixed drinks, cans and bottles, draft options and even wine, all of which have zero alcohol.

“Not every social gathering has to have alcohol. As people who have made beer for a long time, we know that we are much bigger than just the hops, the yeast and grain that goes into a beer. We are creative people who want to participate in everybody’s lives in lots of forms,” Richards said.

NADA Mondays are every Monday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. through the month of January.
