• Former TU running back faces murder charge

    TULSA, Okla. - Quick facts:

    • A former TU football player has been charged with child abuse murder.
    • Tavarreon Dickerson played running back in 2015.
    • He was arrested in Arlington Texas Monday.

     

    A former TU running back has been charged in the death of his infant daughter Raylie.

    Detectives say they were called to Taverreon Dickerson’s home near 5th and Harvard on January 10th for the death.

    At the time, police said Dickerson told them it was a co-sleeping death.

    Since then, the medical examiner released their report classifying the death as “homicide.”

    FOX23 got a copy of the report showing the month old baby died from multiple blunt impact injuries as well as co-sleeping.

    Detectives said she had several bruises on her head and suffered from a brain injury.

    Tulsa police searched for him Monday. Neighbors said he has not been home in at least two weeks.

    He was arrested in Arlington, Texas, Monday evening.

    The University of Tulsa has no comment right now, but they did confirm that Dickerson is a former  player.
