Texas man arrested, uses racial slur during assault on black man

MCKINNEY, Texas — A Texas man was arrested for assault Monday after head-butting and spitting on a black man after cutting him off in a restaurant parking lot.

DeVonta Brown was exiting a McDonald's drive-thru after getting a cup of coffee and was cut off by a truck going the wrong direction in a one-way lane, WFAA reported.

Brown grabbed his cellphone as he confronted the driver, who was identified as Christopher Taylor, WFAA reported. In a video posted on social media, Taylor can be heard using a racial slur multiple times. Taylor then speeds out of the drive-thru before abruptly parking. He then gets out of the truck, rips off his shirt, runs over and head-butts Brown before yelling at him. Brown said Taylor also spit on him.

"You could see it in his eyes. You could see the hate in his eyes," Brown said.

Taylor, 51, was arrested and charged with assault, KXAS reported. Taylor did not comment to WFAA.

This is not the first time Brown has faced racism, but it was the first time he has recorded it.

“Just trying to make it home to my wife is a challenge every day,” Brown told WFAA. “Enough is enough.”
