Month before Election Day, almost 4 million votes already cast

What to expect in an election recount?

The country is less than a month until Election Day, but almost 4 million votes have already been cast in this year’s presidential race.

The early voting numbers are showing a possible record set for turnout, Reuters reported.

Election Day is Nov. 3 and more than 3.8 million voters have already turned in their ballots.

At this point in the last presidential election in 2016, only 75,000 had voted early, according to the U.S. Elections Project.

CNN found that in some states, early voting in September either closed in or surpassed all early voting for 2016.

It seems that early voting won’t be slowing down, with more than 48 million vote-by-mail ballots being requested in only seven states, according to data compiled by the U.S. Elections Project.

Some states, like Iowa and South Carolina, have only just started their early voting or absentee balloting, The Associated Press reported.
