Gwen Stefani announced her engagement to country singer Blake Shelton Tuesday via Instagram.
The 51-year-old posted a photo brandishing an engagement ring with the caption, "[Blake Shelton], yes, please!”
Shelton, 44, posted the same photo with the caption, “Hey, [Gwen Stefani], thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!”
According to People magazine, Shelton proposed to Stefani over the weekend in Oklahoma, where Shelton owns a ranch in the city of Tishomingo.
The two met as judges on singing competition show “The Voice.”
They began dating in 2015, bonding over their respective divorces; Stefani was married to Bush rocker Gavin Rossdale from 2002 to 2016, and Shelton was married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert from 2011 to 2015.
“When you’re where she and I were, and you just feel so betrayed and on bottom," Shelton told People in a 2017 interview. “This bond that we formed when we found out what each other were going through, it’s still there.”
“What’s most important to Gwen is somebody who has her back and is a best friend so that’s kind of how it started," he added. “It just feels like it gets stronger all the time.”
In other interviews, Shelton has noted that Stefani is “everything that you could hope a human being could be,” saying she is “the most encouraging person I’ve ever had in my life, on any level."
Stefani has said Shelton has changed her life.
“He’s inspired me so much,” she told Entertainment Tonight in 2019.
Over the years, the couple has been open about their relationship, appearing at events together and posting on their social accounts with each other. The two have also recorded two duets together.
The former No Doubt singer has three children from her previous marriage to Rossdale: Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 5.
