Couple brings home adopted newborn daughter; fellow passengers shower them with best wishes

Couple receives loving messages from fellow passengers while flying home with newborn adopted daughter

After nine years, the dream of having a baby finally came true for Dustin and Caren Moore.

Thanks to adoption, the couple was able to bring their baby girl home when the infant was only 8 days old back in November 2019. But they had to get on a plane with the tiny baby from Colorado to California, The Washington Post reported.

Dustin Moore posted their story to Twitter last week.

As babies do, the little girl needed a diaper change in midflight, and the new parents asked where they could get her cleaned up, ABC News reported.

Jenny, a flight attendant, and a passenger asked the couple why they were flying with a newborn and the Moores explained their adoption story.

Another flight attendant, Bobby, asked the Moores more about their bundle of joy.

A few minutes later, Bobby got on the plane’s intercom system, saying: “Ladies and gentlemen, there’s a very special guest on the flight today. She’s only 8 days old, and she’s traveling home with her mom and dad,” the Moores told The Washington Post.

Then Bobby passed out napkins and pens if anyone wanted to leave the family a message, Dustin Moore said on Twitter.

Some were read over the loudspeaker before all were bundled up and given to the Moores. Flight attendants Jenny and Bobby, who are actually married to each other, also gave the family a pair of pilot wings for their daughter.

Their story apparently hit close to home for one passenger, who wrote: “I was adopted 64 years ago. Thank you for giving this child a loving family to be part of. Us adopted kids need a little extra love. Congratulations.”

The napkins now have a place of honor in a book made by Dustin Moore’s mother, and he contacted Southwest Airlines to tell them what the flight attendants had done for them, the Post reported.

A similar thing happened when Jenny and Bobby got married and they wanted to pass it on to someone else, the Post reported.
