NEW MIAMI, Ohio — Instead of finding an incendiary device, an Ohio bomb squad unit called to a church about a mysterious duffle bag left on the doorstep found a mother cat and a litter of kittens inside.
Butler County Bomb Unit specialist Mike Grimes and another officer found the cat and her six, newborn kittens on Thursday with a note, WKRC reported.
The note said that “Sprinkles” went into labor Wednesday, but did not give a reason why the felines were abandoned.
Sprinkles and the kittens were taken Thursday to the Animal Friends Humane Society. They were evaluated, vaccinated and given blood tests. All seven of the cats were placed with a foster family while they await adoption, the animal shelter said.
