Police: Baby found dead at Texas auto parts store

AUSTIN, Texas — Authorities launched an investigation Monday morning after a woman reported finding a 2-month-old baby dead at an auto parts store in Texas, according to multiple reports.

Police said they were called around 4:15 a.m. Monday to the 5000 block of S. Congress Avenue, where officers found the 2-month-old child. In a subsequent update, police said the death did not appear to be suspicious.

Police told KVUE a woman called police to report a baby who wasn’t breathing at Austin Express Auto Parts.

Officials with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services told KXAN that paramedics pronounced the baby dead at the scene.

The child’s identity and cause of death were not immediately known.
