Florida woman arrested after dispute over slice of pizza turns violent, police say

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A Florida woman is behind bars after a dispute over a slice of pizza turned violent, deputies said.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office arrested De'Erica Lashae Cooks, 22, after she threatened to cut a woman with a knife after the woman said she could not have a slice of pizza, authorities said.

Deputies responded to reports that Cooks said she would cut the victim, as she was holding a knife she was using to cut potatoes.

A witness was able to restrain Cooks while she was attempting to stab the victim with the knife, authorities said.

Cooks was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was transported to the St. Johns County Jail, according to SJSO.
