PSO crews restore power in midtown Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — PSO officials say electrical fires caused outages in Tulsa Wednesday.

They say a transformer fire near 71st and Yale caused outages, but officials say they've cleared the scene.

Officials say a major feeder line caught on fire near 51st and Skelly Drive, causing more than 1,000 outages between 41st and 61st Street and Yale and Memorial.

PSO showed thousands of people lost power throughout the Tulsa area around 3 p.m., but they say the fire caused problems with their system, and only around 2,000 actually lost power.

Power was restored Wednesday night.

Wednesday is the last day of school for Tulsa Public School students, and those driving to pick up students in the area experienced backups.
