Suspected thieves appear to crash truck into Tulsa Dollar General to steal cigarettes

TULSA, Okla. — Quick facts:

  • FOX23 is getting a look at surveillance video footage of a couple of accused thieves crashing their truck into a midtown Dollar General store.
  • We were at the store near Fourth and Lewis shortly after it happened on August 16.
  • Newly released video shows an older model, two-toned GMC truck slam into the store.
  • Then, alleged thieves appear to run into the store. Video shows them inside for a few seconds before police say they were scared away by an alarm.
  • Officials say they only got away with a couple of cartons of cigarettes, but police say they caused thousands of dollars in damage.
  • The truck is described a two-toned maroon and silver GMC truck with an older Oklahoma tag. A cross sticker is in the lower left hand corner of the back window.
