• Student arrested after bringing pellet gun to Centennial Middle School

    BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Quick Facts:

    • Police arrested a 13-year-old, male student who allegedly brought a pellet gun to Centennial Middle School Thursday. 
    • According to statements, the student pulled out a semi-automatic style pistol during an argument with another student. Officials found the gun in the student's backpack and determined it was a pellet gun. 
    • Police took the student to the Broken Arrow Justice Center. He will later be taken to a local juvenile facility.
    • The student is charged with possession of a firearm on school property and threatening a violent act.
    • The weapon was not used and no injuries were reported.

    Broken Arrow Public Schools released the following statement after the incident:

    "The Broken Arrow Police Department arrested a Centennial Middle School student today for bringing a pellet gun to school. School administrators located the student immediately after being informed and then worked in conjunction with BAPD officers.

    The safety of our students is our highest priority, and we commend the student who reported the incident to school administrators." - Broken Arrow Public Schools
