STILLWATER, Okla. — The city of Stillwater says a dog that got caught in their wastewater treatment plant is back home with his family.

According to a post on the city's Facebook page, the dog, later identified as "Chancie," got caught in the water treatment plant south of 19th and Brush Creek Road, nearly six miles from his home.

The dog was reportedly swimming in a clean water basin there.

Officials say they were able to rescue the dog.

He is now home with his family.

How sweet is this? We found a lost dog swimming in a clean water basin at the wastewater treatment plant last week. He is now back home with his family! 🐶❤️ #StwOk Stillwater Animal Welfare
