Temperatures have been on the cold side through most of the week but warmer weather arrives for any mid-week plans
FIRST PART OF THE WEEK
Sunshine will be increasing through Wednesday with a slight warmup for the afternoon by hump day. Morning temperatures will still be freezing and in the 20s so make sure everyone has the proper layers as the days get started.
Going into Thursday, things start to change up. Clouds increase with some rain chances increasing as well. Most of the rain will be in far eastern portions of Green Country. Not everyone will be seeing rain.
The good news is that temperatures will be above freezing for the start of all the rain. Any errands should be run before temps get too cold.
Rain chances will be increasing throughout the day on Friday, becoming more widespread. Most places will be above freezing with the rain but as the evening and overnight hours arrive, temperatures will be drop below freezing changing the rain over to a rain/ice/snow mix.
Slick spots on the roads and sidewalks will be likely as the temperatures continue to drop overnight and the transition from rain to snow continues.
The chance for snow, ice, and rain will remain possible for the first part of the weekend with temperatures hovering around the freezing mark (32°).
Through the entire event of this winter weather, areas north of I-40 have the highest chance of seeing the winter precip while areas south will mostly see rain. If you live north of I-44, there is a higher chance of seeing snow as well.
The FOX23 Severe Weather Team will be keeping a close eye on the timing and the amount of the rain and snow that will be falling. By Sunday things start to change up. More sunshine appears and the temperatures slowly start to warm back up.
