- Rainy conditions will stick around through most of the week ahead
- Some days will bring storm chances, some could be severe
- Temperatures will fluctuate a bit with the continued rain
It seems like the rain has been around for a while and will continue to be around as we go into Spring Break week. This is one of those weeks that you’ll need to keep your umbrella handy along with any rain boots for the kids if they want to spend time outside.
Before storms arrive, remember -- if you are close enough to hear thunder, you are close enough to get struck by lightning.
Temperature-wise, this week is going to be a roller coaster! Afternoon highs will warm-up starting Monday through Thursday before cooler temperatures roll in for Friday and Saturday. The good news is that through the weekend, temperatures aren’t going to stay on the cool side - some warmer temperatures will be moving in for Sunday and even into next week.
The rainy conditions aren’t going to be as up and down as the temperatures.
Monday morning’s rain chances start to dwindle out some for the afternoon and Tuesday but once the rain starts again - it will be sticking around for a little while longer.
Starting late Tuesday through Friday afternoon, showers and storms are going to be possible across the area. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are the days that the FOX23 Severe Weather Team is expecting the highest rain and storm chances.
Late Wednesday night into Thursday morning, some storms will be possible with some large hail possible. The timing of these storms and how long they stick around will impact the storm chances through Thursday afternoon as well.
Thursday is the day that we are expecting the chance for some severe weather to be possible. Hail, heavy rain, and strong winds are going to be the biggest concerns with these storms.
The heavy rain could lead to some flooding in some areas, especially along some of the rivers due to the already soaked ground and the dormant vegetation.
