• 5 years since nine tornadoes moved through Green Country

    Quick Facts:

    • Nine tornadoes moved through in the overnight hours of the 17th of April into the 18th
    • There were only two injuries and no deaths
    • Tornado ratings and numbers were: 3 EF-0s, 5 EF-1s, and 1 EF-2


    Spring 2013, about six dozen tornadoes impacted Oklahoma. Nine of those moved through in the middle of the night April 17th into the 18th.

    FOX23 Chief Meteorologist James Aydelott says more than 3" of rain fell in parts of the area with Wagoner receiving 7".

    He also remembers a warm front lifting to the north allowing some of the storms to have rotation sectors start.

    Thankfully, there were no deaths from these tornadoes and only two injuries.
