Memorial traffic diverted for second time this week in Bixby

BIXBY, Okla. — UPDATE — 08/17/22: Bixby Police and Fire responded to power lines down on S. Memorial between 103rd and 106th. This is the second time downed lines have caused traffic issues in this area this week.

Lanes were back open within an hour.

UPDATE — 08/15/2022: PSO now states that a dump truck hit one of the poles. It caused a fuse to open up where the line connects underground. PSO is working to replace the broken pole. All power is fully restored now.

Bixby Police and Fire have responded to a major traffic backup on Memorial near 111th in Bixby.

Traffic lights from the Creek Turnpike to 111th could be seen flashing red.

FOX23′s Spencer Humphrey was caught up in the mess just before 1 p.m. Monday and shared a video on Facebook.

Officials are diverting cars and semis through a nearby parking lot.

PSO showed around 265 customers initially lost power. Wayne Green with PSO says a bad transformer is to blame and they have a crew already working to restore power.

FOX23 is asking about an oversize load that was spotted in the area, as power lines appear to have been knocked down across the road.
