• Wildfire spreads rapidly through Mayes County

    MAYES COUNTY, Okla. - Quick facts:

    • At least five different fire departments battled a Mayes County blaze Wednesday.
    • Mike Dunham from Mayes County Emergency Management said power lines started the fire.
    • He said it is spreading rapidly near North 429 Road near Highway 20 in Pryor.
    • Though some houses were in danger, Dunham said they are OK. 
    • Dunham said wind caused them trouble.
