2 arrested after pipe bombs found outside Creek County Courthouse

CREEK COUNTY, Okla. — Quick Facts:

  • Berry and Christopher Nichols, 53 and 23, went to jail early Wednesday morning

Two men went to jail early Wednesday morning after allegedly putting bombs in a woman’s truck.

FOX23 reported when two pipe bombs were found in a truck outside the Creek County Courthouse.

A woman coming back from the courthouse called police about the possible devices in her car; she said someone flattened all of her tired as well.

The Tulsa bomb squad came to recover the devices, confirming they were bombs.

Officers put out a search for a blue truck possibly related to the incident.

Witnesses were able to help build possible ID for the suspects, and identified Berry Nichols. Sapulpa Police went to his last known address, where they met the pair.

The men allegedly made admissions about the bombs.

The targeted woman was the victim in a case where Berry Nichols was charged with shooting with intent to kill. She was at the courthouse for unrelated business.

The Nichols men allegedly conspired to make the explosives to scare or intimidate her.

They went with investigators for questioning overnight.

They went to jail on complaints of burglary and conspiracy, as well as manufacturing, possessing and placing bombs and/or incendiary devices in a vehicle.
