Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office investigating homicide after human remains discovered Sunday morning

TULSA, Okla. — UPDATE — Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the human remains discovered Sunday morning as a homicide. The Medical Examiner is working with Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office to identify the victim.

Human remains were discovered along a wooded area just west of Turley Sunday, the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The investigation is in its early stages and details are limited, the sheriff’s office said.

The remains were discovered by deer hunters near 61st Street North and North Yorktown Ave.

Deputies said wildlife spread some of the remains along the tree line which has made recovery of the remains difficult.

Deputies said it was too early to tell if the remains were male or female.
