Police: Tulsa retirement community nurse accused of stealing $36,000 watch from resident

Tulsa man accused of stealing from elderly woman at local nursing home

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested a man who they say took advantage of his position at a retirement home to steal from an elderly woman.

Police say Dominic Agee worked as a nurse at the Monterau retirement community near 71st and Irving.

Officers say Agee went into a woman’s room while she was at lunch and took her Rolex watch valued at $36,000. He later pawned the watch off.

The victim’s son had the serial number for the watch and reported it stolen.

Police say the owner of the pawn shop entered the watch into their system, which is monitored by police, learned it was flagged as stolen and contacted police.

The pawn shop had the suspect’s information because he used his ID to make the transaction.

Police surveilled the suspect and arrested him Thursday night on suspicion of larceny, false declaration of ownership in pawn and caretaker neglect.

The CEO of Monterau says this is an unfortunate situation that they are taking seriously. They do extensive background checks before hiring. He says they followed the proper protocol following this incident and have been working with police to get it resolved and get the watch returned to the victim.

Agee is no longer employed there.
