• Man known for climbing a Tulsa tower arrested for bank robbery

    TULSA, Okla. - Quick Facts:

    • Tulsa police arrested a man after a robbery call at a bank in east Tulsa.
    • Police told FOX23 William Sturdivant is in custody after robbing the Arvest Bank near 31st and Mingo.
    • Officers said the Sturdivant came to a home after the robbery near 31st and 89th East Avenue and called a taxi.
    • Police closed in on the taxi and arrested the Sturdivant.
    • Police said they found him with bags of cash when they arrested him.

    • Several years ago Sturdivant climbed a transmission tower and stayed up there for several days. 

    A man known for climbing a Tulsa tower and staying for days is now suspected in a bank robbery. 

    Police arrested WIlliam Sturdivant on Sept. 14th. He's suspected of robbing a bank at 31st and Mingo.

    Police said Sturdivant called a taxi from a nearby home after the robbery and that is how police found him. 

    Sturdivant climbed a Tulsa transmission tower several years ago and stayed up for several days, he talked to FOX23 about it:
