Leonard Home Explosion: No injuries reported, fire officials continue investigation

BIXBY, Okla. — First responders were at the scene of a home explosion in Leonard, near Bixby, Monday night.

It happened around East 168th Street and South 157th East Ave. Fire officials said they first received reports about the explosion at 6:30 p.m. When Bixby firefighters arrived they said a multi-story house had been blown apart.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported.

Investigators could be there a while determining the cause of the explosion. Officials said there are propane tanks in the area and that could be a possibility.

Fire marshals said the homeowner installed a "used" heater a few hours before the explosion. The investigation is still underway.
