• Police: Man kicked Tulsa officer, tried to choke K-9 officer

    TULSA, Okla. - A man is in jail after police said he kicked an officer in the shin and tried to choke a K-9 officer.

    Officials said Norman Hiner acted as a lookout for a woman who allegedly stole from a store near Admiral and Memorial in Tulsa.

    During a confrontation with police, Hiner allegedly tried to run away and kicked an officer in the shin. He got away, but the K-9 officer caught up with him.

    Police said Hiner then tried to choke the dog.

    Officers were able to apprehend him and the woman accused of stealing.
